 Friday April 26, 2013

 

The boy’s tennis team played their second conference match of the season last night against Eau Claire North. Getting straight set wins were Richard Stewart and Austen Nelsen in the singles lineup as well as the doubles team of Ian Scammell and Ramon Rojo. P.J. Bundy-Wurtz clinched the deciding fourth win by beating his opponent in a third set tie-break. The final score of the night was 4-3, moving Menomonie to 2-0 in conference and 2-1 overall.

Middle School News - Fri, 04/26/2013 - 7:54am

The Final Battle of the Books will take place Wednesday, May 1, after school in the Commons.  Competition will begin at 3:15 with the final teams and the teacher team trying for the highest score.  Family and friends are welcome to this final event of the season!

There will be a Multicultural Club meeting Wednesday, May 1 after school in the Spanish room.

8th Grade students, permission slips for the music trip "Anything Goes" are due today.

Congratulations to Rachel Gray.  The sixth graders participated in the Leader-Telegram's Design an Ad.

Congratulations to the Softball team as they defeated River Falls last night 5-3 and 12-1 in a double header. Morgan Lecheler had a Grand Slam in the first game. Hannah Jensen had four hits on the day, while Brooke Stainer, Taylor Rudiger, Payton Rudiger, Claire Winter & Katie La Buda had two hits each.

Varsity Softball team you will be released at 2:15 today and we will let you know later today as to the location of the game.

School Savings is open every Thursday during lunch in the cafeteria.  Collect your change and deposit into your account and watch your savings grow!

Earth Day activities for this Friday have been cancelled.

Writing Club will meet today from 3:00 - 4:00 in room 825.

The boy’s tennis team started out their conference schedule with a 5-2 win against River Falls last night. Menomonie swept the singles positions’ getting straight set wins from Evan Pelke, Richard Stewart, P.J. Bundy Wurtz, and Austen Nelsen. The team of Dakota Paulson and Seth Kralewski picked up a win in the doubles lineup.

The Robotics club end of the year banquet will be held at 5:30 on Friday, April 19th.

We will be watching the World Championships Live from California and the live release of the 2013/14 robotics challenge event. Please plan on being there, parents and team sponsors are also invited. The menu will consist of pizza, pop and chips.

A representative from CHIPPEWA VALLEY TECHNICAL COLLEGE will be in the guidance office on THURSDAY, APRIL 18 from 8-11:00. Anyone interested in learning about CVTC, and the programs and training offered, come to the guidance office and sign up for a 15-minute appointment.

 

The Robotics club end of the year banquet will be held at 5:30 on Friday, April 19th.
