Essential People, Essential Questions

Several of our schools plan annual Veteran's Day ceremonies. I attended the ceremony at Menomonie Middle School on Thursday. Knapp Elementary and Downsville Elementary also have distinctive events. All three involve student led events under the supervision of their teachers. They did a tremendous job!

We are quickly approaching a tough time of year for some of our students. A veteran teacher and principal will keep a watchful eye out for student behaviors that stem from a place deep in a child's heart. For some students, school is their safe haven.

When You Were Ten

What did technology look like when you were ten years old? Regardless of your age, the answers can begin a great conversation. When I was ten we still had a party telephone line. I suppose it was a "conference call" of sorts since the entire neighborhood could listen in.

A group of dedicated, very excited MHS staff first presented the board with their proposal for a student trip to Washington D.C. about a year ago. Their dream was to provide a new opportunity for our students.
