Policy 170 - Board Meetings

POLICY 170, BOARD MEETINGS

 

The board shall meet in regular session on the second Monday of each month.  The starting time of regular board meetings shall be established annually at the reorganizational meeting of the board at a place selected by the president.  Board members and the leadership team will annually and jointly develop a list of items related to programming or educational issues which shall be prescheduled as meetings throughout the year. Notification of such meetings shall be provided to board members and registered press members one week in advance.

Special board meetings shall be held upon the request of any board member, or the district administrator with consent of the board president. Board members shall file their requests with the clerk or in his/her absence with the president, who shall notify each member in writing 24 hours in advance of the time and place of the special board meeting.

Public hearings may be established by action of the board.

Meetings shall end at midnight or earlier unless extended by a majority vote of the board.

Public notice of board meetings shall be given in accordance with state law and established procedures.
